Experimenting with a beautiful, colourful coral environment for the guppie tank.

Nice Old Lady

More Guppies!

Here I was mostly experimenting with the mood in the tank, finally getting away from the 'blue' water. I quite like the ambiance this creates. More colour experiments to come.

Guppy Vanity

Guppies often tear their beautiful tails as a result of showing them off too much. The guppies in the comic are vain and show their tails off a lot. In this drawing I have been experimenting with the colours mostly.

Guppies

This is another concept of the guppy tank, as Rusty might be seeing it through the hole in the rock. I was trying to establish an interesting light in the tank from light rays. Still trying to find a good technique.

Haloumi

This is a drawing of the guppy named Haloumi. The guppies have beautiful large tails, and show them off in the tank reflections.

The Green Scooper Monster

This is a concept of Splashy being taken away by the 'Green Scooper Monster' (still for want of a better name). The idea here was to frame the panel, using light to draw the eyes to look at the fish being taken away.

Looking Out

This is a concept of Rusty looking out of his tank. He wants to see the outside world but all he sees are the reflections of inside. DEEP! I was experimenting with technique again, working out ways to frame the panel, and get the colours contrasting a bit more.

I did a painting from a photo here, trying to come up with a technique I like.

Angel Fish

More concepts for my comic. This is a sketch of one of the Angel Fish. They are bullies who eat smaller fish, and are also really beautiful colours.

Essential Rusty and Mango

This was a small concept I did of Rusty and mango, taken really from a very early sketch of their facial expressions. Rusty (left) is inquisitive and unsatisfied, and Mango (right) is happy and likes eating.
